Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann (Anime)
EPIC
Tengen toppa gurren lagann is by far, the most epic anime I've ever watched. If you get passed the first episode, you'll find that all of the ones that follow are frought with action-filled battles and revelations.
The story line advances very quick as it goes from one rival to another after merely a few episodes, your typical shounen and DBZ power-up formula.
There is a multitude of different aspects to TTGL.
This anime is not only the definition of epic, but also of gar. To better express my opinion, I shall quote the UrbanDictionary:
"A show so overwhelmingly EPIC that the name itself deserves CAPS! I can't even begin to explain Gainax's anime masterpiece! Something so GAR, so EPIC, so Badass, that the universe itself implodes in the presence of this glorious mech!!!! You think you know what EPIC is? Well you have not seen EPIC until you've seen TTGL. The one Anime that surpasses EPIC with flying colors!! WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK IT IS?!?!?!"
Secondary to the action and drama, there is love and comedy. Brotherly love is the fundamentals of the bonds between Kamina and Simon, but true love is also present. Comedy is added to the already-eccentric characters. They all have their epic/gar moments and at the same time all serve as comic relief. As a result, even serious events are rendered hilarious.
You will definitely enjoy TTGL if you seek adventure and action =)
